151/365: Thunder Showers

We took the dogs on our near-daily trip to the sandbars for a swim and a run today. We brought chairs and books to read as well, planning to take full advantage of the sunny weather. Literally five minutes after we sat down, this massive black cloud drifted over head and it started to ran. Then the thunder started.

We hung out for another 20 minutes or so, sitting in the back of the truck with the back hatch opened as a roof. It was actually really nice, sitting there, watching how dark the rain cloud made everything while it floated over head, blotting out the sun and soaking the sand. We packed it up and headed to the grocery store.

Amy ran inside, and I took a photograph of the parking lot. About five minutes after this photo was taken, the sun burst out and everything was alright again.

  1. We had a similar idea today as well, we pictured a nice dock going out to the water with our lawn chairs on it. We ended up driving down to the end of Mud Lake Road only to find that there were wayyy too many mosquitoes to handle. We had found a nice area too 😦 Perhaps we should have invested in one of those racket/zapper things lol.
